Hello! My name is Alexa Lindsey and I am an artist from the west coast. I specialize in photography and digital arts but I am open to trying new medias! I enjoy taking photos of animals, people, landscapes and nature! This year in my sustained investigation, I tried a medium that was new to me which was gouache.
In my free time, when I'm not working on my artwork, I am playing with my dogs, playing my saxophone, working with leadership and my 4-H projects, as well as working towards becoming an ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) Registrar. I have been playing the alto saxophone for four years now! I enjoy playing in my spare time for school. I like to play music that has a lot of repetition or a jazzy touch to it, or even old school rock music. I am currently trying to teach myself acoustic guitar! I mentioned that I am in 4-H and that I'm in leadership 4-H. I am an ambassador for my county and I hope to apply to be one for my state so that I can reach more people and I can help educate more on small animals. I raise rabbits and cavies (guinea pigs) for 4-H and I have been raising them for six years now, cavies being raised for four years now. I am very passionate about my projects and teaching. I often speak on them and I lead my clubs meetings or I write the meetings minutes. 4-H and ARBA walk hand in hand with each other, while they have their differences they still have similarities. ARBA is specific to rabbits and cavies while 4-H is for all agriculture and nature. To become a registered ARBA judge you first have to pass your registrar's test, which I hope to complete eventually so that I can fulfill the dream of becoming a rabbit and cavy judge. I have been creating art ever since I could walk, and by creating more and more and experimenting I have grown as an artist and grown to enjoy the medias I use today.
